October 2009 will be seeing the launch of a new Acer Aspire 3D Notebook. It is expected to have software that will support 3D movies. Moreover, there is supposed to be a feature that will convert 2D movies to 3D too. All this can be watched on the 15.6” screen of this mobile computer. This notebook is a joint venture of Acer and Wistron, an ODM (original design manufacturer) company.
The vice president of Acer’s mobile computing sector, Campbell Kan, has mentioned that one would require stereoscopic glasses to view the 3D movies on the initial version of this notebook. However, he has also stated that work on a more advanced version 3D notebook which can be viewed without such glasses, is in progress.
This unique notebook will run on the new Windows 7 operating system, which is also yet to be announced. This portable 3D PC was also on display at 2009 Computex Taipei, held recently. More details regarding this new Acer Aspire 3D notebook is still awaited.
