The Acer Aspire One D250 Netbook comes with a unique capability of being ‘bootable’ with a choice of 2 operating systems. You can have Android and Windows XP or Android and Windows 7. While the former costs about £279, the latter is priced at about £299. When you start-up the netbook, by default the Android OS is started. In order to switch to the other OS, you’ll have to follow some manual steps. This can be a little inconvenient most of the time.
Internally this machine is powered by an Intel Atom processor, which has a clock speed of 1.66GHz. A 1GB RAM is present within. A 160GB of hard drive is housed in this device too. A 10.1” screen is sported with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Though it supports Android, it does not have a touch capable display.
Internet connectivity can be got using Ethernet LAN or wireless WiFi. Bluetooth is supported too, for syncing with other devices. Ports and interfaces that are packed within include 3 USB ports, a VGA output, a multi-format card reader, audio input & output. A web camera has been built in as well. The basic model ships with a 3-cell battery. You can even opt for a 6-cell battery if your usage demands more life. Approximately 5-6 hours can be expected for normal computing. When watching videos and running power hungry applications, you can expect about 2-3 hours of life. The Acer Aspire One D250 Dual OS Netbook weighs 1.1kg, which makes it a highly portable laptop.
