Acer Aspire Ethos Laptops

The Ethos family currently has 2 members:-
-the 15.6″ Acer Aspire Ethos 5943G laptop
-the 18″ Acer Aspire Ethos 8943G laptop

Both these devices sport full HD screens. They are capable of playing high definition 1080p videos. Making ultimate use of this attribute is the Blu-ray combo drive that comes built into these machines. The ATI Radeon processor with a dedicated 1GB memory handle graphics. This graphics processor supports Microsoft’s DirectX 11 APIs as well. On the audio front, there are integrated speakers with the Dolby Home Theater Surround system along with a sub-woofer. The Ethos 5943G laptop is equipped with a 2.1 channel system and the Ethos 8843G laptop comes with a 5.1 channel system.

One of the nifty multimedia features is the touch-pad turning into a touch sensitive multimedia controller at the click of a button. This can be returned to the touch-pad mode by clicking same button.

The other Acer Aspire Ethos specs include a standard 4GB RAM, which can be boosted all the way up to 16GB; the Intel Core i5 processor, with an option to upgrade to Intel Core i7; 320GB of hard drive, which can be expanded to 1.2TB. The Windows 7 OS is pre-loaded. The regular set of networking (WiFi, Ethernet, Bluetooth) and connectivity (USB, HDMI, VGA, card reader, audio jacks) options are available with the Acer Ethos laptops. Optionally, a digital TV receiver is also said to be available.

The Acer Ethos laptop prices are in the £1100+ range. They are expected to be available some time in June 2010.
