Acer recently announced 3 new laptops – Acer Aspire AS5536, Acer Aspire AS5739G and Acer Aspire AS7735Z.
Acer Aspire AS5536 notebook sports a 15.6” widescreen (aspect ratio – 16:9) display with LED backlight and a high definition resolution. The AMD X2 QL-64 dual-core processor, which has a speed of 2.1GHz, has been employed. A 3GB DDR2 RAM and a 320GB hard drive are present in this mobile computer. Graphics is handled by the ATI Radeon HD 3200 chip. This notebook PC is equipped with Dolby Home Theatre audio too. A DVD super multi-drive is present as well. This multimedia laptop is packed in a Gemstone Blue case.
Acer Aspire AS5739G is also a 15.6” notebook, which has a 1366 x 768 pixels LED back-lit widescreen display. The processor used in this notebook has the same clock speed of 2.1GHz. However, instead of the AMD processor, the Intel Core 2 Duo T6500 processor is used in this portable PC. A 4GB DDR3 RAM has been incorporated in this laptop. A larger RAM means that the Acer Aspire AS5739G is faster than the Acer Aspire AS5536. The nVidia GeForce GT130M graphics card takes care of motion pictures and gaming. The hard drive capacity is 250GB. This laptop comes fitted with the Dolby Home Theater surround sound system as well. Even a Blu Ray/DVD drive is packed into this multimedia device.
Acer Aspire AS7735Z is the largest among the trio. It features a 17.3” high definition LED back-lit screen. The Intel Pentium T4200 2.0GHz processor handles internal functionality. A 4GB DDR3 RAM and a 250GB hard drive are built into this laptop. The Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics has been integrated for graphics and videos. The Dolby Home Theatre audio is also part of this multimedia workstation.
All 3 laptops are WiFi capable(802.11n). They all ship with Windows Vista Home Premium OS. Multi-touch track pads are present in these devices too. The Acer Aspire AS5536 is priced at $480 (=£295); the Acer Aspire AS5739G costs $750 (=£375); and the Acer Aspire AS7735Z carries a price tag of $600 (=£370) in the US. A UK release has not yet been mentioned.
