Apple has been making hot headlines, since their Worldwide Developer’s Conference, held a few days back. The biggest attraction was the new Apple iPhone 3G S that the company showed off during the programme. New MacBook Pro Laptops were unveiled too – MacBook Pro 17”, MacBook Pro 15” and MackBook Pro 13” Laptops. The announcements about cheaper MacBook Pros were music to the ears as well. Coming to the regular MacBooks, the latest 2009 edition of the Apple MacBook 13” Laptop is is priced at about £750.
An Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13GHz processor handles internal processing in this laptop. The RAM has a 2GB capacity. A 160GB hard drive is also built into this mobile computer. A DVD drive has as well been packed into this portable PC. Graphics processing is taken care of by the Nvidia GeForce 9400M GPU. This makes gaming and multimedia come to life on the 13.3” 1280 x 800 pixels glossy monitor. The Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.7 come pre-installed in this laptop.
WiFi, Ethernet connectivity and Bluetooth are all supported by this MacBook. There are 2 USB ports, a Firewire port, a headphone socket, a microphone jack and a mini DVI port have been integrated into this workstation. Speakers have been built into this device too.
A little heavier and thicker than the Apple MacBook Pro 13” Laptop, the Apple MacBook 13” Notebook, comes in a white polycarbonate case. Though not carved out of a single aluminium block, like the other MacBook Pros, this laptop does feel sturdy and solid. It also gets the well designed keyboard and spacious track-pad as seen with other MacBooks. It lacks the SD card slot and has a slightly slower processor compared to its 13” MacBook Pro sibling. Moreover the battery life offered is about 5 hours, as opposed to the 7 hour life delivered by the MacBook Pro. However, the Apple MacBook Notebook costs lesser.
