3 Reasons Why the iPad Sells Well
Posted on April 26, 2010
The Apple iPad is one of the most criticised devices in the industry. It has seen the extremes – both positive and negative criticisms. There are iPad lovers and iPad haters all over the world. Here are 3 reasons why the Apple iPad sells well.
- Come on, it is an Apple product! – The brand name does matter. The Apple iPhone 3G and 3GS too had gone through a phase of judgements. While many critics pointed out the essentials that were missing from the gadgets, many others were head over heels in love with the multi-touch user interface. The iPhone lacks a powerful camera; it has a user non-replaceable battery; it cannot send and receive MMS. But this did not stop the Apple-aficionados (fans) from going out and getting one.
- The Touchscreen interface is Oooo La La… The iPhone’s touchscreen has also been labelled as the most responsive/sensitive UI available in the industry today. Check this Vimeo video out for proof. The iPad gets the same kind of screen but much bigger in size.
- The App Store has a huge fan club too… Another major factor that contributes to the Apple iPhone success is the App Store. This virtual store has the advantage of being the first of its kind in the industry. It thus has the most number of apps (which seems unbeatable now) when compared to the other stores on the internet. Plus, it is open sourced. There are innumerable developers around the world who create and sell applications on this online store. The iPad too, is home to the App Store. Those people who love those apps, will definitely love it even more on a larger touchscreen.
