In an effort to stay afloat in the global meltdown floods, Apple has come out with new MacBook Pro Laptops with scaled down prices. These laptops are also expected to deliver a longer battery life and have speedier processors.
Apple showed off the new laptops along with the new iPhone 3G S mobile phone during the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference held in San Francisco a couple of days ago. This conference is usually held by the company when they are about to launch a new product model.
There are 3 new MacBook Pro models in the lineup. One of them is a 17” laptop. This 17” MacBook Pro has the following specifications – Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8GHz processor, a maximum of 8GB DDR3 RAM, 500GB HDD, Nvidia GeForce 9400M graphics, discrete Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT, an ExpressCard slot, FireWire Port and a back-lit keyboard.
The second is a 15 incher. This 15” MacBook Pro includes both integrated and discrete Nvidia graphics, choice between 500GB HDD or 256GB SSD, a maximum of 8GB RAM, SD card slot, FireWire port and more.
The third is a 13” notebook. This 13” MacBook Pro will be available in 2 configurations. One, with an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.26GHz processor, 2GB DDR3 RAM, 160GB hard drive, Nvidia GeForce 9400M integrated graphics, SD Card Slot, FireWire port and more. The other configuration will feature the Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53GHz processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 250GB hard drive with all other specifications being the same as the other configuration.
Prices start at about £899, with some of the models having a price cut down of almost £100 too.
