Microsoft claims that their new operating system, the Windows 7, is the net result of the inclusion of feedback from consumers on how they wanted their computers to function. The new OS is also supposed to incorporate some additional features and functions that make daily computations a breeze. • The improved Taskbar is supposed to be much better than predecessor Windows OSs. Larger icons, drag and drop features for rearranging icons, pinning up of frequently used programs to the taskbar, thumbnail views and previews by just hovering the cursor over icons and more are offered.
• The Jump List feature lists frequently used files, or allows pinning to it, important files that you might want to quickly or frequently access.
• Intuitive interface that lets you work with files in a better and easier way, especially when you have many files opened and need a convenient way to open a particular file, without confusion.
• There is a Search option in the Start menu itself or a box in the open windows for searching for files. This is quite similar to the search option found in Windows Vista.
• The Internet Explorer 8 has been used in this OS. This explorer offers an easier and faster way to use the internet.
• Easier way to manage and use external devices like printers, scanners, mouse, phones and more.
• The Home Group feature lets you connect all PCs or laptops at home and share information among them in a convenient manner.
• Connecting to WiFi, mobile broadband and other networks is as well made easy.

Windows 7, a successor of Windows Vista, is expected to be a faster and more responsive OS. Microsoft has been working with other leading hardware and software developing companies to ensure good compatibility and inter-operability. The new OS also pays attention to power saving and hence longer battery lives too.
