MSI @ CeBIT 2009

MSI, short for Micro Star International, had their set of mobile computing paraphernalia to show off at CeBIT 2009. Combining the latest edge technologies, features and attention grabbing designs, the MSI notebooks did attract quite a crowd during the international fair.

msi gt628 notebook MSI @ CeBIT 2009The MSI gaming notebooks, GT628, GT725 and GT733, that were on display, have been designed to meet the gaming requirements of gamers all over the world. These notebooks deliver high-end performance, taking mobile gaming to a whole new level. The MSI GT628 Notebook has been equipped with the nVidia Geforce GTS 160M graphics card and a 1GB DDR3 RAM memory solely allotted for graphics. Users can also opt for the ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4850 graphics card with memory dedicated for graphics being 512MB DDR3. This gamers’ love, features the Intel Core 2 Duo processor and the Intel PM45 +ICH9M chipset as well. The 15.4 inch screen of this notebook offers a display resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels too. In order to enhance the gaming experience, this mobile gaming machine has also employed the Turbo technology, which is MSI’s native and exclusive gaming power boosting utility.

msi gt725 notebook MSI @ CeBIT 2009The MSI GT725 Notebook is quite similar to the GT628 in design. It features the nVidia Geforce GTS 160M graphics card too with a 1GB DDR3 RAM of graphics memory, which can be replaced with the ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4850 graphics card and a 512MB DDR3 graphics memory. The CPU of this laptop consists of the Intel Core 2 Duo processor as well. The Intel PM45 +ICH9M chipset has also been employed. The Turbo technology has been incorporated in this gaming machine too. However, this laptop sports a larger screen, which has a diagonal measure of 17 inches and offers the same resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels.

The third gaming machine, the MSI GT733 Notebook houses an AMD Turion X2 Ultra dual-core/Sempron mobile processor. The chipset used is AMD RX781 + SB700 chipset. Graphics is handled by the ATi Radeon HD4670 DDR3 512 graphics card. The 17 inch display of this laptop presents a resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels.

msi xslim series MSI @ CeBIT 2009The MSI X-Slim Series Notebooks also did sizzle in the limelight at CeBIT 2009. The X320, X340 and the X340 Pro are the 3 main models of this series. These mobile PCs are smaller in size compared to the gaming notebooks. They all feature 13 inch displays having a native WXGA resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The weight of these mini laptops is just 1.3kg. Hence these light and slim notebooks are both attractive as well as highly portable. They are all powered by 4-cell batteries.

The MSI X320 Notebook uses the Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz processor for internal processing. The latest Intel Poulsbo US15W chipset along with GMA500 graphics card take care of graphics. This laptop also supports 3.5G HSDPA networking. The MSI X340 Notebook features the Intel Consumer ULV Core 2 Solo processor. The SU2700 1.3GHz card along with Intel GS40 chipset have been employed as well. The last of the X-Slim series, the MSI X340 Pro Notebook, also incorporates the Intel Consumer ULV Core 2 Solo processor. This thin laptop has been equipped with the SU3500 1.4GHz card and the Intel GS45 chipset. This series of notebooks is expected to make their way to market shelves during April 2009.
