Getting eco-friendly is the need of the hour. Designer Je Sung Park has done his bit by bringing out laptop cases made of recyclable material. Sounds like a bright idea. But how practical and durable the end product will be is yet to be seen.
Paper pulp and cardboard has been used for making the cases of the laptops and other gadgets, instead of metal and plastic. Thus when you want to dispose your laptop off, it is easily recyclable, unlike the plastics used. Things have been put together in layers, so that even replacing is easy if there are any damages.
The laptop lid also has a piece of cardboard attached to it to act as the back rest. This piece of cardboard has been shaped in such a manner as to allow people using the laptop to rest the device on their lap.
Though this innovative idea is a positive step toward environment friendly laptops, the ruggedness of such devices seems like a big question mark. Will the cardboard case be able to protect the internal circuitry? That remains to see.
