Drawing inspiration from the suggestions and ideas given by people around the world on WePC.com, Asus are planning to create the Asus Dual Panel Intuitive Screen Notebook. This unique notebook will really look like a conventional notebook and can be used like one too. It will feature a dual panel, and unlike computer notebooks which have a keyboard-screen combination, this notebook will offer a screen-screen combination. Hence the company refers to it as ‘a revolutionary dual panel concept notebook’. The computer maker announced this notebook in the CeBIT 2009 show at Hannover, Germany.
WePC.com was a joint venture by Asus and Intel. This platform was started to get to know what people really want and innovative ideas that could help create products that are more suited to meet user’s needs. Work on the Asus Dual Panel Notebook is still in progress and the company wants people to contribute more ideas and suggestions for the same.
This dual screen notebook will definitely feature an Intel processor. The notebook manufacturer has also mentioned that this notebook will offer a flexible working space to suit the current usage scenario of people. This notebook will feature an intuitive interface which can be completely controlled by the users with hand gestures. Hand writing recognition and multi-touch capabilities will be offered too. A virtual keyboard and touchpad will allow users to enter data into this unique design notebook. The dual screens can also function as a single screen offering a wider display while watching movies or playing games, with the multi-media hub feature. This device can be used as an e-Book as well, with the user being able to hold it like a conventional notebook and also being able to flip pages with natural gestures. The Asus Dual Panel Multi-touch Screen Notebook surely seems to be a refreshing and welcome change from the monotonous notebook design in the market. All hopes are pinned on it for delivering a performance that will be equivalent to the hype that it has created.
