Asus EEE PC 1001PQ Netbook

Asus EEE PC 1001PQ Netbook has been designed to target the young consumer crowd. This netbook is being presented at the CeBIT show, which is being held at Hannover in Germany. Otherwise an average netbook, the Asus EEE PC 1001PQ, has a few features that are customized to suit children. The operating system for example is a modified version of Windows XP that includes a Magic Desktop, which contains games and other kid-friendly applications. Plus the browser too has been customized to make it more enchanting for the children.

The Asus EEE PC 1001PQ specs are like the usual netbooks. There is a 10.1″ LED back-lit screen with a resolution of 1200 x 600 pixels. The Intel Atom N450 processor with a clock speed of 1.66GHz is used within. A 1GB RAM is present inside along with a 160GB hard drive.

There’s WiFi aboard for internet access. The battery that powers this device up promises an 11-hour battery life!

Announcing its focus on children, the Asus EEE PC 1001PQ comes in a yellow coloured case with a black stripe at the centre. There’s also a black coloured version of the netbook, for those who do not really appreciate the yellow and black combo. There are parental control setting options too.

The Asus EEE PC 1001PQ price has not yet been announced. There’s no confirmation whether this netbook will make it to the UK. Hopefully like most Asus laptops, this one will be budget friendly too. We’ll keep you posted about it.
