Asus EEE PC 1005PR Seashell Netbook

The Asus EEE PC 1005PR Netbook offers mobile computation along with entertainment. It has a few specifications that are really striking. The first is its Broadcom BCM 70015 HD decoder, which is supposed to be a powerful chip for playing movies in high definition. Plus, despite being a 10.1″ screen device, it sports a HD resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, which can play 720p content. Many other netbooks of similar screen size offer lower resolutions. There’s HD audio on-board this netbook too. The other highly impressive feature of this device is its battery life, which Asus quotes as 11 hours.

The Intel Atom N450 Pine Trail processor drives this netbook from the inside. It has a 1GB RAM. The maximum RAM capacity is 2GB though. The hard drive has a 250GB capacity. Plus, there’s 500GB of online storage as well. The Windows 7 Starter edition comes pre-installed in this little laptop.

In-order to connect to the internet, you can either use a wired Ethernet connection or WiFi. Even mobile broadband USB modems can be used for internet on the move. You can use one of the 3 USB 2.0 ports aboard the Asus EEE PC 1005PR. Bluetooth 2.1 is also supported. There is a VGA port, a multi-format card reader, a headphone jack and a microphone jack present in this netbook too. A 0.3MP camera is integrated within as well, for video calls.

Asus EEE PC 1005PR release date – This Asus netbook has already been released in the US market. A UK launch is however, not announced yet.
