Here’s another gaming laptop from Asus, the Asus G60J 16″ Laptop, which boasts a powerful set of specifications for a solid gaming experience. First of all, it is driven by a quad core processor, the Intel Core i7-820QM processor, which has a frequency of 1.73GHz. The base model ships with a 4GB RAM, which can be upgraded to a maximum of 8GB too, as per requirements. The hard drive is humongous with 1000GB of storage space. There is also a CD/DVD BD-ROM drive housed in this device. The operating system that this laptop hosts is the Windows 7 Ultimate edition.
This gamer sports a 16″ LCD screen with a high definition resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and LED backlight. Considering the size and other features, a Full HD screen would have been a much better option here. Graphics is handled by the all-capable Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M processor. Inorder to link with the virtual world, you have both WiFi as well as wired Gigabit LAN options. Bluetooth is supported for linking with other gadgets wirelessly. The interfacing options available are quite noteworthy too. There are 5 USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, a FireWire port also, a VGA port, an HDMI port and microphone & headphone jacks. This 3.3kg device also has built-in speakers.
The Asus G60J Gaming Laptop is available in a blue case, which is a welcome change from the regular red and black gaming workstations that have been found around lately. Like its weight, its price is hefty, with a price tag of £1,700. However, workhorses of this kind finally do cost that much.
