Asus G72GX Laptop is a powerful gaming machine, which can be customized to suit your needs of speed and brawn. It features a 17.3” display with a resolution of 1600 x 900. Although this is capable of playing HD videos, we’d have appreciated a full HD screen better. There are plenty of options for processor – either an Intel Core 2 Duo or an Intel Quad Core processor can be chosen. The 6GB RAM will definitely prove quite efficient in speeding up processing. As with most gaming notebooks, this one too comes with NVidia graphics – the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M processor. This laptop is based on the Windows 7 OS.
The Asus G72GX comes in the various configurations - The Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 2.52GHz processor, a 500GB hard drive and a DVD drive for €1400. The Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 2.80GHz processor, a 640GB hard disk and a BluRay drive for €1500. You can get this same configuration with a 1000GB hard drive for €1600.
An extensive set of ports and connectors are present on board the Asus G72GX as well. There are 4 USB ports, a VGA output, an HDMI output, a Firewire port, an eSATA port, an ExpressCard slot, headphone jack, microphone jack and a multi-format card reader. A 2MP web camera makes for video chatting. High audio is presented too. Networking is handled by WiFi or wired Gigabit LAN. Even Bluetooth 2.1 is supported for wireless linking with other gadgets.
The Asus G72GX Gaming Laptop weighs 4.05kg. The battery life offered is quite low, like most gaming devices. You might end up getting just about 1 hour, for highly demanding applications. Simpler tasks like internet surfing might let you have a slightly longer life. The price of this gaming machine is starts at about €1400.
