Disney Netpal Netbooks From Asus

“All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy!” So Disney and Asus decided to help Jack with their joint venture laptop – the Disney Netpal Netbook. Jack will soon watch Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and other Disney characters dance on his netbook screen. Be it his school work or playing games, he can do it both on the 8.9” 1024 × 600 pixels LCD screen of this mini laptop. Jack’s parents can relax as well, with the mini workstation offering about 40 parental control options. They can even control the websites that little Jack can visit or set filter options for emails too.

Not just Jack, this netbook has been designed for all kids between the age group of 6 and 12. It offers many cool customisable features, that can be quite fascinating. The desktop can be customised with a variety of themes which include popular Disney’s animated characters. The lid itself comes in 2 colour schemes – Mickey Mouse themed Magic Blue and a floral Princess Pink. Shock protection features are present, to protect the device from shocks and jerks.

The underlying Windows XP OS platform has a kids-friendly user interface on the top. Almost all aspects have a Disney touch to them. The browser, sites, email editor, menus, widgets, trays and more are all Disney themed. The other technical specifications include an Intel Atom (N270) processor, WiFi, 1GB RAM, a choice between 160GB of hard drive or 16GB of solid state drive. A VGA port, 3 USB ports, a headphone socket, a microphone socket and an Ethernet connection are all packed in this mobile PC. An MMC and SD card reader is housed as well. A 0.3 Megapixel camera has been integrated into this portable computer too.

The Asus Disney Netpal Netbook will be selling from July for a price of $349.99. A UK release has not yet been heard of.
