Asus’ New 3D Laptops – G51J3D and G72GX

asus-3d-laptops - LaptopReviews.org.ukAsus is readying two laptops with 3D capability for a release soon. These mobile computers belong to the ‘G’ series Asus laptops. The smaller one, the Asus G51J3D Laptop is a 15.6″ screen device, while the Asus G72GX Laptop is a 17.3″ display workstation. Both laptops have been crafted to quench the gaming and multimedia demands of users.

The Asus G51J3D Laptop is expected to feature the NVidia GeForce GTX160M graphics processor. A whole 1GB of DDR3 memory will be dedicated to videos. The Intel Core i7 processor will be employed for processing along with a 4GB RAM. There will also be two 320GB hard drives housed within. The Asus G72GX Laptop’s specifications have still been kept a secret. However, you can expect something similar or more powerful than the G51J3D.

Coming to the 3D video watching, Asus uses active-shutter glasses for viewing them. A pair of such glasses will be included in the laptop deal most probably. However, a report from Register Hardware mentions that almost 15 people can sit before the G51J3D to watch 3D videos without the viewing angles bothering them. With a refreshing rate of 120Hz and a stunning performance, the guys at Register Hardware were quite impressed by the laptop. They also stated that the Asus G51J3D 3D Laptop performed much better than competitor Acer’s 3D laptop. Another major difference between the 2 rival 3D laptops is that Acer offers polarising glasses for viewing 3D content, and Asus employs active shutter glasses.

The Asus G51J3D Laptop is expected to hit markets in December, while the Asus G72GX Laptop will most probably start shipping during the second quarter next year. UK release, pricing and offers have not yet been revealed.
