HP Compaq Airlife 100 Android Netbook

The HP Compaq Airlife 100 Netbook which was showcased at the MWC, 2010, has a few ‘out of the ordinary’ features. First of all it runs the Android operating system, instead of the Windows OS, which is a regular with most netbooks. The second interesting aspect is its 10.1″ touchscreen display. There’s one more new design detail - the trackpad is flanked by the menu button on the left side and the home and back buttons on the right side; instead of the regular mouse buttons.

Internally, the Compaq Airlife 100 netbook is speculated to run the Snapdragon 1GHz processor. Instead of a hard drive, a 16GB solid state drive is employed for storage. WiFi is supported for internet connectivity. Plus 3G networks will also be accessible while on the move. There’s an SD card reader and a web camera housed in this Android netbook. The Instant On feature is present too.

Another good thing in favour of this smartbook is its battery life. A 12 hour run time life is claimed. The standby time quoted is 10 days.

The HP Compaq Airlife 100 Android Touchscreen netbook is reportedly going to be exclusive to Telefonica. It is currently headed for the Spanish market. There might be a European release some time later, but maybe with a different name.

Hewlett-Packard Compaq 615 Laptop

Get the new Hewlett-Packard Compaq 615 Laptop and take your work along during your travels too. This laptop is equipped with AMD Athlon X2 QL-64 processor that has a speed of 2.1GHz. The device has a card reader too and it supports SD memory card and MultiMediaCard. Audio output is provided by high definition compliant sound card and for audio input, it has a microphone. It has an integrated notebook camera with a sensor resolution of 2 mega pixels. Keyboard and touchpad are the included input devices. The unit also has a MDC modem with a maximum transfer rate of 56Kbps. It includes a network adapter and supports wireless LAN. Broadcom 4312 G is the wireless NIC supported. Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g and Bluetooth 2.1 EDR are the data link protocols and SNMP is the remote management protocol of this notebook PC.

The unit has 2 memory slots and an ExpressCard/34 slot too. Additionally, it offers security lock slot (cable lock sold separately), system password, power-on password, DriveLock, HP Disk Sanitizer and HP SpareKey. It has a size of 37.2 cm x 25.4 cm x 3.2 cm and a weight of 2.5 Kg. Supporting external power device, it requires a voltage of AC 120/230V (50/60 Hz). The battery included is a 6 cell lithium ion battery with a capacity of 47Wh and life of up to 4 hours.

HP Compaq 6530b Notebook PC

HP Compaq 6530b Notebook PC is one of the latest laptops released by HP. Its features are remarkable and ideal for both business and home users. The dimensions of this unit are 3.3cm (W) x 33.5cm (D) x 24.3cm (H) and weighs about 2.4kg. It has a 14.1 inch monitor with resolution of 1200 x 800 pixels.

This notebook PC works on an Intel Core™2 Duo P8600 processor and has a hard disk with a storage capacity of 160GB. This laptop has a 2GB DDR2 SDRAM that can be extended to 8GB. The L2 cache memory included has a capacity of 3MB. Front bus speed of this device is about 1066MHz. It comes with Intel GE45 Express Chipset.

HP Compaq 110C Netbook

HP Compaq 110C 10” Netbook is another traveling companion from HP, which apart from being light in weight is also light in terms of its price. This mini laptop is equipped with the Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz processor. It also employs the Intel GMA 950 graphics. The RAM of this small workstation has a capacity of 1GB. The hard drive integrated has a storage space of 160GB. Microsoft Windows XP Home OS comes pre-installed in this netbook.

There is a 10.1” screen which presents a resolution of 1024 x 576 pixels. This widescreen monitor also has the anti-glare feature. Both WiFi and Ethernet connections let you access the internet with this portable PC. The ports and connectors available on board include 3 USB ports, a headphone socket, a microphone socket, a VGA port and a 5-in-1 card reader. A webcam for video chat is also integrated into this ultra-portable device.

Depending on how long you would be using the HP Compaq 110c away from the power supply, you can opt for either a 3-cell or 6-cell battery. While the 3 cell battery delivers a life of about 2.45 hours, the 6-cell gives close to 6 hours. The HP Compaq 110C Ultramobile Netbook will be saying hello to market shelves during August 2009. It is expected to be priced at about £279.

HP Compaq 2230s Notebook

HP Compaq 2230s 12″ Notebook is a highly portable computing device, which offers a good performance as well.
