The MSI Wind12 U230 Notebook is a 12.1″ screen laptop, which has a promising set of features for all multimedia, gaming and portability. The LED back-lit display has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels which can handle high definition videos.

MSI Wind U230 Notebook
With the release of the Windows 7 operating system, almost every laptop manufacturer is releasing portable PCs featuring the OS. MSI Wind U230 Notebook is MSI’s Windows 7 Notebook. With a 12.1-inch screen, this laptop offers a high definition resolution of 768 x 1366 pixels.
The AMD Athlon Neo X2 MV40 processor with a working frequency of 1.6GHz forms the CPU of this workstation. A maximum of 4GB RAM can be integrated within it. Depending on your requirements, you can opt for 160GB, 250GB or 320GB hard drives. The AMD ATI Radeon HD3200 graphics processor performs processing of display signals in this laptop.
You can connect to the internet with wired broadband as well as in a hotspot using WiFi. For connecting to other external peripherals, you have 3 USB ports. In case you wish to view movies or videos on a bigger and better monitor, you can use the VGA output or still better, the HDMI output. A 4-in-1 card reader is also present in this laptop. MSI X-Slim X410 Notebook
The newest member of MSI’s X-Slim family is the MSI X-Slim X410 Notebook. This light and slim laptop packs in multimedia and entertainment features, making it a mobile entertainer. This laptop has partnered with the AMD’s Congo ultra-thin platform. It uses the Athlon Neo processor which is tough competition for the Intel CULV processor. The ATi Radeon X1250 graphics processor is incorporated, for handling displays. This chip is capable of 1080i playback. The maximum RAM that can be supported is 4GB and the hard drive can be boosted up to 500GB. The standard model ships with a 2GB RAM and a 320GB hard drive.
This notebook has a 14″ LCD screen with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. Connectivity with other devices can be achieved through the 2 USB ports, an HDMI output, optional Bluetooth and a 2-in-1 memory card reader. There are speakers and a 1.3 Megapixel web camera integrated into this multimedia laptop. WiFi and wired Ethernet offer internet connectivity. The package offers an optional external DVD/Blu Ray drive too.
The MSI X-Slim X410 14″ Laptop measures 349mm x 234mm x 24.5mm and weighs 1.5kg. The deals will range in price from 414 to 499 Euros (~ GBP 372 – 449). This makes it highly affordable too.
MSI X600 Laptop
MSI X600 Laptop has been designed to join the ultra-slim bandwagon. It is supposed to range in thickness from 9mm to 25mm. This MSI netbook flaunts a 15.6” display with a resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:9. There are 2 versions of the same model – the X600-055UK and the X600-067UK. The X600-055UK has been incorporated with extra powerful features for suiting multimedia needs.
The MSI X600-067UK Laptop is powered by the Intel Pentium SU7200 1.3GHz processor. The RAM has a 3GB capacity. The hard drive consists of 320GB storage space. This model costs about £599.
The MSI X600-055UK Laptop has the faster ultra-low voltage Core 2 Duo SU9600 processor working on the inside at a clock speed of 1.6GHz. This device is equipped with a 4GB RAM which adds to its processing speed. A 500GB hard drive is present too, which is sufficiently roomy to accommodate a large amount of data. This version of the MSI X600 has an external DVD drive that ships with it in the package. For all these, you will need to shell out an additional £200 (amounting to a total of £799) when compared to the X600-067UK.
Both versions employ the AMD ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 graphics chip. They both support WiFi as well as Ethernet connectivity for surfing the web. Bluetooth linking is offered too. New Laptops From MSI
MSI has been working on 16” and 17” laptops which are supposedly part of the C-Series family. These laptops are the CR600, CX600, CR700 and CX700. While the CR600 and the CX600 are 16” screen laptops, the CR700 and the CX700 are 17 inchers. The foursome has similar specifications with minor variations. There is nothing that is ‘jaw-dropping’ly WOW about these workstations, but there’s no reason to complain either. And yes! They are budget laptops, all costing below £600.
The CX600 and CR600 laptops, as mentioned above have 16” screens, each with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. They both come with 4GB RAMs, 320GB hard drives, Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium OS, 3 USB ports, 4-in-1 card readers, WiFi (802.11n).
The CR700 and the CX700 have 17.3” displays, each having a resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels. They come with Intel Pentium Dual Core 2GHz processors, 4GB RAMs, 320GB hard drives, DVD drives, Windows Vista Home Premium OS, 3 USB ports, 4-in-1 card readers, WiFi (802.11n).

The CX series, CX600 and CX700, employs the ATI Mobility Radeon HD4300 graphics. On the other hand the CR series, CR600 and CR700, comes with nVidia GeForce 8200 graphics processors. The CR series laptops also include an HDMI port each. The CR600 can be upgraded to include an Intel Dual Core 2.1GHz processor and a Blu Ray drive as well.
The UK market will be receiving the MSI CR700 Laptop and the MSI CX700 Laptop by the end of August, 2009, but not the 16” models. While the CR700 will cost £499, the CX700 is priced at £549. The deals and offers that these laptops will ship with are not known yet.
MSI Wind U200 Notebook
MSI Wind U200 12” Notebook was launched recently at the MSI Press Conference in Taipei, Taiwan. This notebook seems like the older sibling of the MSI Wind U100 10” Netbook. However, comparing the specifications of both mobile computers, one can easily say that the MSI U200 will walk away with the cup.
This notebook uses Intel’s Pentium CULV (Consumer Ultra Low Voltage) processor with a clock speed of 1.3GHz. A 4GB RAM and a 320GB hard drive come integrated in this portable PC. The operating system employed is the Microsoft Windows Vista Premium. The screen offers a high definition resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Connecting to the internet can be done either using WiFi or the wired Ethernet connection. This notebook also supports 3G technology for high speed internet access.
Although compact in design, there are a number of interfaces and connectors housed in this device. 3 USB ports, a VGA port, an HDMI port, a card reader, a Kensington lock, a headphone jack and a microphone jack are all present. A video chat web camera of 1.3 Megapixel resolution, is built in as well.
MSI Wind U200 Notebook is priced at €629 in the German market. Though MSI has not yet mentioned a UK release, this price amounts to £540.
MSI GX723 Laptop
MSI GX723 Laptop is for the hard-core gamers out there. When it comes to gaming laptops, speed of performance, graphics, display, sound and memory should all be really powerful to deliver an optimum gaming experience. The MSI GX723 laptop has a 17” LCD screen. A high definition resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels ensures clear and sharp videos and images.
The processor used in this laptop is the Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 processor which has a clock speed of 2.4GHz.
