Entourage Edge e-Reader and Netbook

The Entourage Edge is a combination of an e-reader and a netbook. This device has been designed by Entourage Systems, Inc. to replace the heavy backpacks of high school and college students with a light solution.
The Edge is a dual screen device and hence it is also called a dualbook by the company. However, unlike the other dual screens we have heard-of/seen-before, like the Asus Dual Panel Notebook and the MSI Dual Screen laptop, which have identical displays, the Edge sports 2 different screens. There is a 9.7″ electronic-ink screen and a 10″ LCD colour screen. They are both touch capable and can function independently or together.
Some of the capabilities of this dual-screen e-reader are - running plenty of Android applications; highlighting text and navigating between them; internet access; using a stylus to write on the e-ink screen; viewing images from one screen on the other (viewing an original colour diagram that appears on the e-ink screen, as it is in colour, on the LCD screen, by drawing a line on the e-ink screen diagram) and more.
This device supports WiFi for web browsing. There are USB ports on board too. SD cards are as well supported for memory expansion. There are 2 microphones for cutting out background noises while recording. The Marvell chip has been used in this dual screen gadget.
The Edge Dual Screen Netbook cum e-Reader weighs about 1.3kg and costs $490. It is supposed to start shipping from February 2010.
Asus EEE PC T91 Netbook

Asus EEE PC T91 8.9″ Netbook is definitely a heart stealer, with its charming and pleasing looks. This convertible netbook has an 8.9 inch touch sensitive screen, which pivots about its central hinge, and can be folded over the keyboard, with the display facing upward. This screen has a display resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. A well laid out keyboard and a wide trackpad are featured as well.
This cheap laptop is internally powered by the Intel Atom Z520 processor which has a speed of 1.3GHz. The operating system that this mobile computer ships with is the Windows XP OS. A 1GB DDR2 RAM is housed in this sleek netbook as well. A 32GB solid state drive is present too. On the networking front, this little laptop supports Wired networking as well as WiFi. Bluetooth capability is also offered. It supports 3G and higher networking technologies, which present very high speeds of internet access, down-linking and up-linking.
This Asus laptop pc features GPS and a TV tuner too. There are also 2 USB ports on board. A memory card reader for MMC, SD and SDHC is present as well. Even a VGA output is available. A 0.3 Megapixel web camera has been integrated into this camera netbook too.
Thin and compact, the T91 is just about an inch thick and it weighs less than a kg. It measures 21.6cm by 16.5cm by 2.8cm. This makes this stylish and trendy netbook a very handy computing device for travels. The market shelves will be honoured by the presence of the attractive Asus EEE PC T91 Convertible Netbook, in May 2009.
Asus Eee PC 1008HA Netbook

Asus Eee PC 1008HA Netbook was recently announced by the company and was also shown at the CeBit, held in Hannover, Germany. With an attractive design, which the netbook maker calls the “pearlescent” design, this device surely does look good. The case is more lustrous compared to other Eee PC netbooks and has curved edges. The device is 1 inch thick, when closed and weighs about 2.4 pounds. This makes it much sleeker than the others in the family.
This mini laptop features a 10 inches display. A 92 percent full sized keyboard is present too. The lid of this mobile computer, opens out and slips below the case of the device. Something like the ‘MSI’s Wind Netbook’. This new Asus netbook is expected to support WiMAX, 802.11n WiFi standard and Bluetooth. 3G capability is to be offered as well, by this ultra-portable netbook. Hence, you can be assured of super fast internet access and download speeds. This “Shell” laptop will also be equipped with the Eee Sharing and Eee Arena software. There is information that this small laptop might feature the Asus Eee Docking application bar too. This bar makes transferring of files easy, using a Eee sharing utility, between the netbook and the Eee Arena media portal.
The Asus Eee PC 1008HA 10″ Netbook is also expected to be attractively priced, so it does not burden your pocket. As for the other specifications and the actual price, Asus is yet to make them official.
Lenovo IdeaPad S10e Laptop

Today is the first peaceful day I have for myself after the launch of ‘Pretensions’. Oh, didn’t I tell you? The novel of which I spoke to you was a huge hit. I’ve been on the move for the last ten days giving out interviews, read-outs, promotions and what not! Phew! I’m happy I have this whole day all for myself. One of my readers, Adrian Woodbury from Ashford to be more precise, gifted me a laptop. It’s a Lenovo IdeaPad S10e 1.3 megapixel camera laptop. Have a look at it. I love the plum-red colour. It measures about 25 x 18.3 x 2.8cm – its quite compact. It runs on a Intel’s Atom 1.60GHz N270 processor. And the…excuse me while I answer the door.
“Hi, Mike, come in, come in!” “Hello aunt Bridgette! Came to meet a friend of mine and thought I’ll pay you a visit.”
“Oh, It’s been so long..sit down sit down…what will you have to eat? Shall I bake some thing?”
“Mmm, how about choco-chip muffins aunt? Mom makes ‘em and I just love them.” “Sure thing Mikey. Come, I’ll make some tea for you.”
Hey, aunt Bridgette, thats a cool-looking laptop you got here!”
“It’s a Lenovo IdeaPad S10e 10.1 inch netbook. Go ahead, take a look” “The screen is LED backlit! What’s the resolution aunt Brig?”
“It’s about 1,024 x 600 pixels. Mikey dear. “The colours are quite sharp. And did you notice, there is a 1.3 megapixel camera on top of the bezel” “What about memory, aunt?” asked Mike tapping the keyboard as he spoke.
“The RAM is about 1GB, of which 512MB is upgradeable. You can make it 2.5GB by installing 2GB more. And Mike, it has Intel’s integrated GMA 950 for graphics. Go on and explore it, while I start on the muffins.”
“And, aunt before I forget, my friends wanted your autographs.” “Did you like the book Mikey?” “Actually aunt, It was boredom wrapped up in the shape of a book!” said Mike, with a mischievous glint in his eyes. I stared at him in disbelief as he bursted out laughing. I gave him a painful tug at his his ears and he yowled aloud saying “Okay, okay, I was just kidding! It was an excellent book aunt. The last chapter gave me chills.”
“Now that is my Mikey! Come on in to the kitchen table. We can chat while I bake. You can bring the laptop if you want.” I set out to melt the chocolate bars and whisk the eggs. “How’s Elda, Mikey?” “She’s good aunt” said Mikey distractedly. He was busy fidgeting with the laptop.
“I see that your IdeaPad S10e has a pre-loaded Windows XP Home. And, it has a swell keyboard.” “Aunt Brig, does it have Bluetooth?” “Aunt?!”
“Sorry Mikey” said I, after carefully measuring out two cups of chocolate sauce and egg whites. “Did I hear Bluetooh? Yes, the laptop has Bluetooth 2.0, 802.11a/b WiFi and 10/100Mbps wired Ethernet. And the hard disk is of 160GB. Here, is the sugar enough?” I offered him a taste of the batter.
“Uh-huh. Its perfect” said Mike. Still keen about the laptop. “And, oh, it has a 34mm ExpressCard slot. And, two ports for audio and USB. And a 4-in-1 card reader and a VGA out port.” “How much do you think it weighs, aunt?”
“About 1.14kg, I believe” said I, as I placed the muffins to bake in the oven. “Another twenty minutes, and they’ll be done. Come on, lets go to the living room. I’ll show you the photographs of my trip to the US.”
We settled in the couch with cups of tea and a bag of chips. “How’s the battery aunt?” asked Mike, indicating the IdeaPad S10e. “It has a 3-cell battery with it, Mike. I wish it was a 6-cell unit instead.”
We chatted on about Mike’s friends and his ’special’ Margret. “I hope to marry her one day” he said with his cheeks flushed pink. Just then, the muffins pulled us with invisible strings. The chocolate-brown muffins were baked to perfection. The chocolate-chips melted in our mouths. “Mmmmm…” said both of us in unison as we took our first bites and laughed.
Asus Eee PC S101 Netbook

Technology has taken huge leaps and bounds in the computer world. The bigger the strides got, the smaller the size of the computer became. The history of computers, show that these machines once occupied an entire room. Today, computers are ultra-portable and can even rest on the palm. The nomenclature has also changed with size. Portable computers are called laptops, netbooks and notebooks too. Asus Eee PC S101 Netbook is one such portable computer, that has been equipped with advanced features and leading edge technologies.
The processor used in this netbook is Intel Atom N270. This processor has a speed of 1.6GHz. A DDR2 667MHz RAM with 1GB storage capacity has also been employed. The total storage capacity of this device is 52GB. 20GB of this is online storage, 16GB being SD memory card and the other 16GB being solid state drive. The Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Operating System is compatible with this laptop.
The 10.2” screen of this laptop, offers a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Networking and connectivity options include 3 USB ports, Ethernet compatibility, Bluetooth support and Wireless networking. D-Sub video output is also supported. Built-in speakers are available as well. Input to this netbook can be provided via its’ keyboard and the mouse track pad. The entire unit measures 266mm by 191mm by 29mm and weighs 1.06kg. A slim Lithium polymer battery having an estimated life of 4 hours, powers up the device.
Asus Eee PC S101 Netbook definitely has the looks to sweep you off your feet. This handsome model comes in a mocha brown colour with a glossy lid. Anodised silver strips run along the edges of the laptop. When compared to its predecessors, it is lighter and thinner, but on the more expensive side. However, Asus claim that the price is low compared to rival contemporaries offering similar features.
