The Samsung N220 Netbook seems like just another netbook in the market. However, if it lives up to its claim of 12-hours of battery life, it can turn out to be one of the best sellers. Plus, its crystal-finish, distinctive patterned case, adds to its beauty. This pattern is supposed to keep finger impressions and scratches at bay.

Other specs are quite average - what you find in most netbooks these days. A 10.1″ LED back-lit screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels is featured in the Samsung N220 netbook. WiFi and Gigabit LAN connection are both offered in this Samsung laptop for getting online. There’s Bluetooth too, for wireless file exchanges with other devices.

The typical Samsung N220 price in the UK is £330. Some special laptop offers online also give reasonable discounts.

Samsung N150 LTE Netbook Unveiled at MWC

Samsung set the record in being the first laptop maker to reveal a 4G netbook - the Samsung N150 LTE Netbook, at MWC 2010. LTE or Long Term Evolution is the next generation of mobile communication technology which will provide much higher data rates than the existing 3G technology.

The Samsung 4G netbook is average in terms of other offerings. A 10.1″ screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels is presented. With the 4G networks being predicted to offer better high-speed real time gaming and faster HD video streaming, a higher screen resolution would have been more welcome. Other specs include - an Intel Atom processor (N450), a 1GB RAM, a 160GB hard drive, the Intel GMA3150 GPU, Windows 7 Starter OS, WiFi, Bluetooth, wired LAN connectivity, a multi-format card reader, a web camera and 3 USB ports.

Coming to some of the special features of this 4g laptop, it promises download speeds of 100Mbps and upload speeds of 50Mbps on 4G LTE network. There is backward compatibility too. Hence it can even connect to the 3G networks. The battery life that Samsung quotes is about 8 hours.

The Samsung N150 4G Netbook release is expected some time later during this year. However, it will take time for the 4G networks to come into existence in the UK. Hence, we’ll have to wait for enjoying the 4G LTE speed. The price of this device has not yet been announced. Fingers crossed for reasonably priced laptop offers.

Samsung N150 Netbook

Samsung’s latest ultra-portable, the Samsung N150 Netbook, is another Intel Pine Trail Platform device from the laptop-maker. The other netbooks that have already employed this platform are the Samsung N210 and the N220. The new line of Intel processors promises longer battery lives, due to lower power consumption. The Samsung N210 and N220 netbooks are quoted to offer close to 11 hours of life. However, the newer Samsung N150 claims just about 7.5 hours. Nevertheless, this runtime life too is pretty decent for portability. Other specs are quite similar to other netbooks that are currently available.

The N150 is a 10″ 1024×600 pixels display device. The lid is a scratch-resistant one. As mentioned earlier, the Pine Trail Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz processor drives this netbook. A 1GB DDR2 RAM and a 160GB hard drive are housed within this workstation. A 4-in-1 card reader helps expand memory. The Intel GMA 3150 GPU handles the visual signals. The operating system that ships along is the Windows 7 Starter edition.

There are 3 USB ports aboard the N150. You can link other gadgets like your MP3 player, or compatible mobile phone for charging or for file transfers. Even a mobile broadband dongle can be plugged in for internet access on the move. Bluetooth is as well supported for wireless data exchange. A VGA port and the headphone and microphone jacks are present in this workstation too.

Browsing the web, emailing, keeping friends posted regarding your life, sharing your photographs and videos and more can be done at home using the wired Ethernet connectivity, or at WiFi hotspots.

The Samsung N150 10″ Ultraportable Laptop is expected to cost £280. It is supposed to be released soon in the UK market.
