Toshiba Satellite T130 4G LTE Laptop Revealed at MWC

While Samsung’s N150 LTE netbook got the attention first at MWC, Toshiba too was not behind in showing their Toshiba Satellite T130 4G LTE laptop. Both these devices promise to give higher speeds of internet access, thanks to the 4G network compliance. While the Samsung 4G netbook is a 10″ device, the Toshiba T130 is a 13.3″ notebook with a HD resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. There’s one more major difference in the offerings of these laptops - Samsung promises about 100Mbps of download speeds on their netbook. However, Toshiba claims a much humbler offering with 16Mbps of download rates. Perhaps this is more practical in the real world.

While the present 3G networks are supposed to offer 7.2Mbps of internet access speeds, the practical values are much lower. Therefore only time will tell, if the speeds claimed by Samsung and Toshiba will actually be a reality.

The Toshiba 4G LTE notebook gives a choice among 4 processors - Intel Pentium Dual Core ULV SU4100, Intel Pentium Single Core ULV SU2700, Intel Single Core ULV SU3500 and Intel Celeron Single Core ULV743. These ULV (ultra-low voltage) processors are reportedly going to push battery life all the way up to 11 hours. In-order to boost up performance, there’s mention that any two of the processors might be paired together along with 8GB of DDR3 RAM. A maximum of 500GB hard drive will come packed within. Networking features will include WiFi and Bluetooth apart from the 4G LTE ability.

This Toshiba laptop weighs less than 1.8kg. There is no mention of when the Toshiba Satellite T130 Long Term Evolution laptop will be available for sale, as of now. Anyhow, we still have to wait for the 4G networks to be widely available.
