Gigabyte M912X Tablet Netbook is an 8.9” touchscreen handheld PC. This LCD display screen offers a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels and can be rotated around and folded over for ease of use. It is internally powered by an Intel Atom N270 processor which has a clock speed of 1.6GHz. A 1GB RAM is present in this mini laptop. This can be extended to a maximum of 2GB as well. The hard drive has a capacity of 160GB. This UMPC ships with the Microsoft Windows XP Home OS.
Despite its small size, it manages to pack in 3 USB ports, a microphone jack, a headphone socket, an Ethernet connector, a VGA D-Sub port, an ExpressCard slot and a 3-in-1 memory card reader for SD/MMC/MS. This tablet PC supports WiFi as well as Bluetooth connectivity. A 1.3 Megapixel web camera has been built into it too for video calls. The battery of this portable PC delivers a 3.5 hour battery life.
There is a slot on the top-left corner of the screen panel into which the stylus that comes along with this netbook PC fits in. Panasonic Toughbook Executive CF-T8 12” Notebook is a little unique in its design. It features a circular touch-pad, unlike other notebooks which usually have rectangular ones. Moreover, both vertical and horizontal scrolling is possible with this track-pad. The settings for this can be manually configured for the size of the scrolling area as well. The 12.1” screen of this portable PC also features touch-sensitive capabilities. However, this notebook is not a convertible like the other touchscreen laptops available in the market. The colour TFT screen of the Executive CF-T8 presents a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. There is a DVD drive near the track-pad, which opens up for inserting of the disk.
The Intel Core 2 Duo SU9300 1.2GHz processor has been incorporated into this mobile computer for carrying out internal operations. The Mobile Intel GS45 Express chipset has also been employed to handle data movement in this notebook. A 3GB RAM and a 120GB shock and jerks-resistant hard drive are built into this small laptop too. Both Windows Vista as well as Windows XP are compatible with this mobile computer. However, the CF-T8 comes pre-loaded with the former OS. The Intel GMA 4500MHD processor has also been used for handling graphics and videos.

HP EliteBook 2730P 12” Notebook is one of HP’s touchscreen convertible notebooks. It sports a 12.1” touch-sensitive monitor, which has a native resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. This small laptop has a stylus accompanying it in the package and the screen responds to touches from the stylus only. With the Illumi-Lite antiglare feature this display allows comfortable viewing, cutting down external reflections. Wide viewing angles are offered as well. The screen is also highly sensitive to the stylus, and can sense it immediately when brought close to it. The hand-writing recognition feature works well on the HP EliteBook 2730P too.
The processor employed for executing applications on this notebook PC is the Intel Core 2 Duo SL9400 processor which clocks at 1.86GHz. A 3GB RAM is present in this mobile computer as well. Memory upgradation up to 8GB is possible too. A 120GB hard drive has been built into this convertible netbook. Graphics and video processing is handled by the Mobile Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics card of this portable PC. The Microsoft Windows XP Tablet Edition is installed as the software platform on this tablet.
