The HP Envy 13 Laptop is the little brother in the Envy family; the elder one being HP Envy 15. Both brothers are handsome and sport some really powerful features; but, making them yours could be quite a strain on the wallet.
The HP Envy 13, like its name indicates is a 13.1″ screen notebook, with a HD resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Graphics processing is the responsibility of the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 GPU. Though not the best graphics processor, this one can do a good job for gaming and entertainment. Moreover, the screen offers good brightness levels and wide viewing angles too. A DVD +/- RW drive has been integrated within. Watching movies and even writing into the DVDs are thus possible. There are built-in Altec Lansing stereo speakers making up the sound system. The bass boost software from Beats, also helps in enhancing sound quality.
Your internet life is taken care of by a Gigabit LAN connection or WiFi. A web-cam for video calls is also present. Wireless networking with other gadgets can be done using Bluetooth. There are 2 USB ports for interfacing with other peripherals as well. (Many notebooks of the same size, usually ship with 3 USB ports.) You can also view the contents of this laptop on your LCD/plasma Television using its HDMI port. An SD/Multimedia card reader is also housed in this workstation. A headphone and microphone combo-port is present in this notebook as well.
The Intel Core 2 Duo SL9400 1.86GHz processor has been employed in this Windows 7 based laptop. A 3GB RAM and a 250GB hard drive are incorporated. The battery life you can expect from this device is about 6 hours. A wide multi-touch touchpad and a chiclet keyboard make for good ergonomic working. The whole device weighs 1.7kg.
The HP Envy 13 Notebook has been priced at about £1299. This includes the premium support services that are offered. There are plenty of notebooks in the market with slight variation in their offerings, but cost much less. The Dell Inspiron 13Z, the Apple MacBook 13.3″ notebook, Toshiba Satellite T130, the Acer Travelmate Timeline 8371 to name a few.
