HP had recently introduced their thinnest notebook - the HP Pavilion DV2Z Notebook PC, which measures about 0.93” in thickness. Adorned in shiny expresso black or moonlight white, this mobile computer is packed with an appreciable connection set and promises a good performance. The most striking aspect is the cost – it is very attractively priced (about $599 = £364).
Being a multimedia-centric device, this laptop is powered by the AMD Athlon/Turion Neo dual core processor. You can view high definition pictures with vibrant colours on the 12.1” LED BrightView widescreen display. The ATI Mobility Radeon HD graphics is integrated into this gaming laptop. Other entertainment features include the option of an optical drive, like a Blu Ray disc drive. A high capacity hard drive (500GB) allows ample storage space for all your media files and games. There are 3 USB ports, a VGA output, a 5-in-1 digital card reader and an optional HDMI link for connecting to high definition monitors. A web camera for video chatting is part of this workstation too. Powerful audio is ensured by the Altec Lansing speakers with SRS Premium sound.
Other technical specifications include a 4GB RAM, the Windows Vista Home Premium operating system, Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11g/n. You can also opt for mobile broadband with the following network providers – AT&T, Sprint or Verizon. The battery life offered is about 4 hours and 45 minutes. The HP Pavilion DV2Z 12” Notebook hopefully makes its way to the UK market as well and soon.
