Alienware 17 Inch Gaming Laptop Launched by Dell

Dell launched an impressive gaming laptop Alienware M17x Gaming Laptop under the logo of Alienware, since its taking a stake in the brand in 2006. This perhaps can be the reason behind the long wait forced on the ardent admirers of Alienware products to have a look on the brand’s laptop. However, Alienware has been a prolific supplier of bizarre looking desktops to the world market.

As expected, the device comes fortified with high-end components. The platform of the laptop would be either of a Core 2 Duo processor or a Core 2 Extreme Quad Core processor of Intel, backed by 4 to 8GB RAM. The gaming capability of the device struts accompanied by dual or single GeForce GTX 280M 1GB graphic cards of nVidia and an extra integrated graphics chip for the extra punch.

The hard drive of the new launch comes in a couple of versions – a traditional HDD version highlighted by 250GB to 1TB memory and the advanced solid state disk version with 512GB memory. The 17 inch glass edge-to-edge LCD screen boasting a display resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels promptly takes the gaming scopes of the device to a higher level.

A default DVD writer in the form of a slot loading optical drive is another significant feature of the Alienware machine that can very much be upgraded to Bluray. The device is blessed with WiFi 802.11n as well. Finally, the connectivity of the machine is explained by FireWire, eSATA, DisplayPort, Card reader, VGA-out and HDMI ports, apart from 4 x USB ports.

As for the price part of the UK versions, it seems the long wait will have to be continued for a week or so more, even as the US version comes with a price tag of $1799 for the base model.
