AMD earns in CPU sector of notebook

According to a report, AMD has taken some market share from Intel in the field of notebook in the market.
Based on the report by IDC, the shipments of the mobile PC processor increased by 6.5 per cent during the second quarter of the year when compared to the first quarter.
AMD got 1.6 per cent share from Intel in the second quarter as this company was in the top position with 86.1 per cent in the notebook CPU sector. And now AMD is positioned at 13.7 per cent.
Compared to the first quarter of this year, the revenues increased by 6.2 per cent with unit shipments rising by 3.6 per cent in the PC microprocessor sector. According to IDC, the increase was due to the usual trend in the CPU market.
AMD owns 19 per cent share while the overall market share of Intel is 80.7 per cent in the notebook, desktop and server markets. While Via, a Taiwanese company has 0.3 per cent share.
According to IDC, the shipments of the server dropped in the second quarter. It also expects the growth of CPU unit to be 19.8 per cent.
An analyst of the semiconductors at IDC warned that the demand for the processors in the market will be low as usual in August also.
