Apple iPad Tablet – Still A Concept?
Posted on September 30, 2009
There has been a lot said and heard about the Apple Tablet, but nothing seen till date. However, iLounge has managed to scoop out 10 new details about the much hyped tablet, which iLounge has christened the ‘iPad‘.
During the long course of all the Apple tablet rumours, 3 prototypes have supposedly been developed by the Mac maker. The first prototype reportedly had a 7″ display, which Apple felt was too small. The latest prototype is expected to have a 10.7″ screen. The operating system that powers this device is supposed to be the iPhone OS itself. And moreover, it is believed to look like an iPhone too, with the curved rear. The resolution of the screen is however, expected to be much more than the iPhone, perhaps 5-6 times the iPhone screen resolution. There are supposed to be 2 versions of the tablet, one with 3G and one without 3G capability.
This tablet, which is described as ‘light communication device’ and ‘iPhone OS media player’ is supposed to be a replacement for magazines and books. Though it is not supposed to be much of a netbook-compatriot, it is expected to feature media, apps, web-browsing and gaming capabilities. The Apple iPad tablet will most probably be announced on or before January 19, 2010. And it is speculated to be released into the market by May or June next year. Again the chances of this tablet making its way to the market is mentioned as 80%.

Not only that, its rear label reveals an A1337 product code — one that’s also shared by the current iPad WiFi + 3G — and lists 128GB of onboard storage, two times the current tablet’s maximum. We don’t know what material
