Apple have announced that their latest hi-tech gadget, the Apple iPad, that’s making headlines all over the internet, will be releasing in the UK soon. The 3G version of the iPad is reported to step into the market in April, this year, while the non-3G model will start shipping prior to that, maybe towards the end of March, 2010. This is almost similar to the release schedule of the US.
The pricing has still not been confirmed for the UK. However, it is reckoned that the much awaited tablet will possess a base price of about £400.
The carriers to provide mobile broadband to the iPad have not yet been revealed. Although the rumour mills have already spun plenty of information on this. While O2 and Orange have reportedly made bulk purchase of the micro SIM cards that the iPad will use for mobile internet access, even Vodafone is said to be joining in the iPad retailing in the UK. These mobile network providers are already the official retailers of the Apple iPhone 3G and 3GS here.
The Apple iPad offers pretty much all the features that an iPhone does (except the camera and flash player), plus a large display, more powerful processor, new enhancements like a dedicated eBook-store (iBook), new tools for doing official work (iWork) and more.
