Apple MacBooks Top Laptop Ratings of Consumer Reports

Apple MacBook laptops topped the rankings in all the three of US’s Consumer Report magazine‘s notebook categories. The three notebook categories of the CR are 17” laptops, 14” to 16” laptops and 13” models. The MacBooks’ prevailing over their lower cost Windows-based rivals was found to be highly significant.

It is worth mentioning here that in the 15 inch to 16 inch laptop category, the Apple MacBook Pro 15” Laptop scored 75 points, as its nearest rival, the runner up Toshiba Satellite 15” Laptop came up with only 64 points out of a maximum of hundred points, despite the latter being priced less than half the price of the former.

The Apple notebook line virtually dominated the 13” category, as Apple MacBook Unibody Notebook came emerged at the top, closely followed by Apple MacBook Air and Apple MacBook Polycarbonate. Apple’s MacBook Pro 17” Laptop was however, the gadget of the event, as it scored 80 points out of 100 that was the best rating of any laptop reviewed by Consumer Reports.

However, despite coming up trumps in all the laptop categories of CR reviews, Apple was found trailing with its desktop models in the desktop reviews of the magazines. In this sector, the Apple was found lagging well behind some other models such as Dell XPS One and Hewlett Packard Pavilion.
