Apple ranked as the third largest laptop manufacturer

In an analysis by Deutsche bank, Apple has been declared as the third biggest laptop manufacturer in the world. According to the analyst Chris Whitemore, iPad has been included as a part of the figures. Also, consumers were now buying tablet PCs and iPads along with laptops and netbooks.

The sales figure of Apple laptops during the last quarter was 3.27 million and when the iPad sales figure was added, the figure touched to 5.74millions. With this figure it is confirmed that Apple is becoming the major players in the laptop market. Also while the sales growth for the other manufacturers slowed down, there was a steady increase in the sales of Macbook by Apple.

Apple was ranked third, while Acer and Hewlett Packard are ahead of them. However, it is yet to be decided as to whether iPads and tablet PCs are to be counted in to the sales figure of laptops.

With the launch of Android tablet PCs by the end of 2010, the PC market will undergo a considerable change and it is expected that there will be further development in the sales figures.
