Asus’s new Seashell 1101HA netbook that is all set for a grand gala launch will be a netbook version of the Apple MacBook Air laptop, according to the reports. The Seashell 1101HA is expected to hit the market with a 11.6 inch display screen with high definition capabilities.
It is expected that the flagship model of Asus would be revealed at the Asus booth at the Computex 2009 Show that started today in Taipei. According to the sources, the Seashell 1101HA is an inch thick at the rearside, tapering down to a couple of centimeters at the frontal tip. The round edges of the device that are tapered from the thickest part of it as well, make it look even thinner.
The Seashell 1101HA, being part of the Asus’s Seashell range, will come with an LCD of 1366 x 768 pixels display resolution. The processor that powers the device will be either an Atom Z520 or an Atom Z530 processor from Intel. The processor of the netbook will be complimented by a RAM of 1GB. The hard drive will be of 160GB, and the device would present a multicard reader, apart from three USB 2.0 ports.
In the power segment, the Seashell 1101HA is expected to effectuate a battery life of up to 11 hours on a single charge. The six cell battery is either of 2200mAh or 2800mAh capacity. No official word has been let out on the availability or pricing of the advanced netbook yet, although reports hint that the announcement of the official launch is to take place early next week.
