Dell Introduces Customisable Laptops in Britain
Posted on June 18, 2009
Design Studio is the new range of laptops from Dell, whose launch in the UK was announced by the company last day. The speciality of the fresh laptop range is its allowing the buyers a wide choice array of around two hundred exclusive designs for personalising a laptop.
According to Dell’s sales and marketing vice president for global consumer business, Michael Tatelman, Dell has entitled the buyers to choose their gadget by the design, from a palette of 200 exciting designs, as previously they had done it specifying the processor or software.
Tatelman bodes that it was just the start, as the future devices would allow the people to associate them with groups, such as football teams or bands, by means of their design. He added that in course of time, people could also submit their own artwork, which would be accepted provided being issue-free.
There is something for charity as well in the launch of the new Dell range. This is all about its partnering with the charity firm Product Red designs that partners with prominent brands to put forth premium versions of products for sale with a mark up particularly for charity.
At present, only a couple of Dell laptop models, namely Dell Studio 17 and Dell Studio 15 are available with the service of Design Studio. The price for plain colours has been fixed at GBP 29 inclusive of VAT, as extravagant designs come with a GBP69 inc VAT price tag.
