Expert's recommendations
The Dell Studio 17 laptop with a multitouch screen will hit the UK market this year, according to a report in CNet UK. The tech-reviews site elicited the information from a Dell spokesperson. However, pricing has not yet been confirmed.
The basic laptop configuration costs $899 (£545) in the US. This includes the Intel Pentium T4300 2.1GHz processor, a 3GB DDR3 RAM, a 250GB hard drive, integrated graphics and a DVD R/W drive.
CNet UK got their specs customized to include an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz processor, the same 3GB DDR3 RAM, a 500GB hard drive, the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphics processor and a Blu Ray read+write drive. The price totaled up to $1,374 (£830).
Speculations are that the UK pricing will exceed the US ones.
