Google Chrome OS Netbooks

January 4, 2010

google-chrome - LaptopReviews.org.ukThe Google Chrome operating system is said to be launching with a completely new set of netbooks specially designed for it. A few details about what these netbooks have in store have now been found.

These Google Chrome powered mobile computers are expected to have ARM processors driving them from the inside. These processors are said to be more efficient and better performing when compared to the Intel Atom processors, which are currently the standard with most laptops. Moreover, the battery lives of the netbooks will also be more, owing to the lower power consumption. The chipset that will be part of the Google Chrome laptops are reportedly from the NVIDIA Tegra family. Thus some powerful graphics can be expected.

The other features of these netbooks are supposed to be 10.1″ TFT touch-displays, with high definition capability; 64GB of solid state drive; 2GB of RAM; WiFi; Bluetooth, to name a few.

Acer is supposed to be sending out Google’s Chrome OS netbooks first. There’s news that Google themselves will be retailing the netbooks and they also will include deals for 3G broadband with popular mobile network operators. The netbooks are supposed to arrive right in time for Christmas 2010.
