NVidia have released their new graphics processor – the nVidia GeForce 310 GPU. This graphics processing unit has been designed for a better multimedia and gaming experience with the new Microsoft OS – Windows 7. nVidia is said to have worked with Microsoft so that the GPU and the OS could bring out the best in each other.
Viewing photos, playing games, watching or even editing videos is supposed to be enhanced with this new GPU. This processor is expected to play HD Blu Ray videos, regardless of the CPU being used.
The nVidia GeForce 310 graphics processor houses 6 CUDA cores and has graphics being clocked at 589MHz. It comes with 512MB of DDR2 memory and the working frequency is 500MHz. A maximum resolution of 2560×1600 pixels is supported. Other technologies involved are NVIDIA CUDA technology, DirectX 10.1, PureVideo and OpenGL 3.1 technologies. The PCI-e 2.0 interface has been used. The ports offered are DVI, VGA and DisplayPort.
