Laptops Help Students Opened to Learning In Spite of School Closures Due to Swine Flu

Growing are the number of schools closing their doors temporarily with a view to prevent the rapid spread of the swine influenza virus, H1Ni in Mexico, New Zealand, S.Korea and a few states in the USA. However, the scope of technology being used in the delivery of education during the school closures is very much in the consideration of the school administrators. The first line of the alternative are laptops and broadband.
It has been reported that in the US alone, around three hundred countries are closed as a result of the Swine Flu. According to the reports, the states with school closures included New York, Ohio, Minnesota, Maryland, California, Illinois, Connecticut, Texas, and South Carolina. Apart from the regular school closures, the high school sports in Alabama and Texas too were suspended comprehensively.
Thomas.E.Chandler, Columbia University’s educational applications and technology manner for the NCDP (National Center for Disaster Preparedness), stated in an email that schools at all levels could consider online instruction to prepare the students for a possible swine influenza epidemic. He added that an online learning procedure will always be useful, even in the case of swine flu not culminating into a major pandemic.
Su Sabatini Ayers, a student resident of California revealed that she, along with her classmates and a number of teachers were already engaged in online learning through video conferencing. She added that her Dell XPS M1730 Notebook had come very much handy in her accessing the video conferencing service.
Another student as well, Amity Devon hailing from Chicago said that her class group was contemplating on the scopes of online learning using laptops for making up for the lost time, which would be well on the way within a few days owing to her group’s owning advaced notebooks.
