Packard Bell Netbooks’ UK Launch

The first news about Packard Bell dot M and dot S laptops broke out in the first week of April with no word out on their launch in the United Kingdom. Of late reports have disclosed that the European, as well as the UK launch of the two netbooks is well round the corner. The pricing details of the models for the UK market are also almost out. The dot S with a 10.1 inch display is expected to bear a price tag of GBP 299, while the 11.6 inch display bearing dot M netbook is expected to cost GBP 369, when they hit the UK market in July.

Packard Bell owned by Acer has designed the dot M netbook much like the flagship model of Acer, Acer Aspire One 751. Even the hinges and the keyboards of the two devices carry resemblance. However, resemblances end there as the dot M comes with an Athlon L1110 processor of AMD supported by a 2GB RAM and a hard drive memory of up to 320GB. Another option for the dot M will also be available, marked by an Atom processor of Intel, 3G data features and Windows Vista interface.

Meanwhile, the dot S netbook, which bears a 10 inch diagonal sized display, carries the looks of the Acer Aspire One D250 Laptop. The dot S is expected to come with an optional 3G data feature. Other features shrouding the dot S are; an Intel Atom N280 CPU complimented by a 1GB RAM and a HDD of 160GB memory.
