Pixel Qi displays for Touchscreen Netbooks

Pixel Qi displays will soon be ready for using with tablets and netbooks. The devices that will sport them will have multi-touch capability. Though the names of the companies that will use these specialized screens have not been revealed, the head of the team involved in making the Pixel Qi screens, Mary Lou Jepsen, has mentioned that, these companies will be present at CES.

These screens are supposed to be super-slim. But many laptop and tablet makers still prefer the standard thick ones. There are reports that the Pixel Qi screen will most probably be featured in eBook  readers initially.

For small businesses and hobbyists, the company is also planning to start distribution of the screens sometime in Q1 of 2010.

We’ll have to wait to know more about pricing and the companies that will use the Pixel Qi screens.
