A purse-sized ultra-portable netbook PC has been launched by Sony. The Sony Vaio P Pocket PC presents most of the vogue features of the day. A remarkable feature of this laptop pc is its 3G modem that allows users to access the internet by the insertion of a mobile card sim card. Sony claims that this 8 inch laptop pc, which also sports a GPS receiver and a webcam, is designed especially for those who want to check emails and edit documents surfing the internet, on the go. The makers also claim that this netbook that presents an easy to use keyboard, is the lightest of its kind in the world.
Sony has always ardently watched the market of ultra-portable laptops, and also taken pain to launch relevant models at appropriate stages. The most impressive feat here is however, its launching Sony Vaio G11 as the lightest laptop then to counter Apple’s unveiling MacBook Air as the thinnest laptop in the world. Here, Sony has emulated the same yet again by launching a ground breaking device, the basic model of which would be available at GBP849. A faster machine with more memory, though would come with a price tag of GBP1370.
Nevertheless, many experts are sceptical about consumers willing to pay the asked price. Joshua Topolsky of Endgadget held the view that it simply costed more than other options, as the technology expert of another renowned gadget website, Roby Cruise stated that it would had been a better option with a slashed price offer.
