Smoking is Hazardous to Apple Mac Repairs
November 23, 2009
Smoking is injurious to health. Now there’s more to this – If you smoke before your Apple Mac and the device malfunctions, then Apple might not even repair it for you.
Geeky Gadgets reports about a Mac user, who was denied service by Apple for his Apple Mac, as the device showed traces of cigarette smoke inside. According to Apple, this was a biohazard and repairing the Mac can turn out to be risky for the health of the Apple employees.
However, the AppleCare warranty does not mention anything about Mac repairs not being undertaken on account of the device faltering due to cigarette smoke/nicotine. Their service is supposed to include repairs even for ‘extreme environment’.
Will Apple be rephrasing or rewording their warranty statements? Or will they reconsider fixing the Mac? These questions will soon find answers.
