Survey news – Apple laptops preferred by students

According to a recent survey conducted, it was found that the student’s most popular laptop manufacturer was Apple. Initially Dell was at the top but later on it was found that Apple’s Macbook Pro notebooks and Macbook surpassed Dell with a share of 27 percent for netbook sales in the university campuses. This was in comparison to Dell’s 24 per cent. Other companies that are in the list are Hewlett Packard in third position, Toshiba in fourth position and Sony in fifth position.The survey was conducted among 1200 students of 100 university campuses, which showed that among the students the popularity of the Apple laptops was increasing and that there was no sign of abating. Also there was a sign that showed that about 47 per cent of the students were planning to buy a new computer and the preference was for Macbooks. When compared to a survey that was conducted about five years ago, this was a huge increase of 14 per cent when the students said that they planned to buy Apple PC.
But with regards to the student desktop PC, Apple’s market share is 14 per cent, which is lower than both HP and Dell who share a 45 percent share in the market.
