The Tablet Game Has Begun – HP, Nokia Tablets On Their Way?
Posted on April 10, 2010
History is repeating again! Some years ago it was the Apple iPhone. And today it is the Apple iPad! Apple is as usual the trend-setter, and the others seem to be desperately aping.
We heard about the HP Slate tablet recently. And now it is Nokia that has just joined the bandwagon! A Nokia tablet is rumoured to release later on this year, perhaps during the fall. This tablet is supposedly going to be based on the Meego platform, which is being developed by Nokia in partnership with Intel.
We really wonder if any of these companies will be able to duplicate Apple’s spectacular multi-touch user interface. Despite all the other mobile phone makers having tried their hands at creating an Apple iPhone killer, none of them succeeded in replicating the sensitivity of the iPhone’s touchscreen. However, these mobile handsets definitely beat the iPhone when it came to other aspects like camera, memory, connectivity and so on.
What will the tablets have to do to become iPad killers ..
Just imagine if the tablets from other manufacturers can multi-task, have a built-in web camera, a good connectivity set (with plenty of ports), support Adobe’s flash, offer a widescreen and higher resolution display and IF (spelt in capitals) they succeed in developing a UI as sensitive than that of the iPad…. then they could become better sellers than the iPad!
