UK fails to make into top 100 broadband cities

According to a research conducted by Akamai, none of the UK cities have made in to list the top 100 cities with the fastest broadband access in the world. South Korean city of Masan tops the list. A number of other South Korean cities have also proved their high speed based on the list. According to David Belson, the presence of proactive government for providing the basic fund for broadband deployment and population density was the result of good performance.
With the failure for not making in to the top list, British government will have to face strong criticisms. PC and laptop users were not able to access broadband with high speed, while the business concerns have criticised the government for not providing them with the online development. Government ministers are regarded as the reasons for the delay in the deployment of high speed internet.
The study also revealed a difference between the figures given by Akamai and Ofcom regarding the average broadband speed in the UK. Akamai estimated the connection speed to be less than 3.8Mbps whereas Ofcom recorded the connection speeds of 5.2Mbps.
