MSI Wind X-Slim X320 Notebook

The MSI X-Slim Series Notebooks attracted good attention at CeBIT 2009, Hannover. These notebooks have shaken the ground of Apple MacBook Air, in being the slimmest notebook, with a thinckness of 0.7”. MSI Wind X-Slim X320 Notebook and MSI Wind X-Slim X340 Notebook are 2 of these ultra-slim, ultraportable small laptops.

The MSI Wind X-Slim X320 UMPC comes with a unique set of specifications. The Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz processor forms the CPU of this mobile computer. The Intel GMA500 graphics card has been employed for handling graphics and videos. A DDR2 RAM of 2GB capacity is present in this mini laptop. The hard drive on board has a storage space of 250GB. The Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium OS comes pre-installed in this portable PC. A 13.4” 1366 x 768 pixels screen is featured which presents a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9.

The interesting part is that the MSI X-Slim X320 optionally offers WiMAX support as well, along with the regular WiFi and wired Ethernet capability. It is Bluetooth compatible too. High speed 3G internet accessing is supported also. The ports and interfaces housed in this ultramobile PC include 3 USB ports, a headphone jack, a microphone jack, a 2-in-1 card reader, an Ethernet socket and a VGA link. A 1.3 Megapixel camera has been built into this mobile PC as well.

A good battery life is expected from this notebook PC. If the 8-cell battery is opted for, then this device can also give up to 10 hours of run-time. In 3 eye-catching colours – silver, black and white, the MSI Wind X-Slim X320 Apple MacBook Air Killer, seems all set to be served hot in the market. It is expected to cost about $700. That would be £460 approximately. There is no information of a UK release yet.
