MSI Wind U200 12” Notebook was launched recently at the MSI Press Conference in Taipei, Taiwan. This notebook seems like the older sibling of the MSI Wind U100 10” Netbook. However, comparing the specifications of both mobile computers, one can easily say that the MSI U200 will walk away with the cup.
This notebook uses Intel’s Pentium CULV (Consumer Ultra Low Voltage) processor with a clock speed of 1.3GHz. A 4GB RAM and a 320GB hard drive come integrated in this portable PC. The operating system employed is the Microsoft Windows Vista Premium. The screen offers a high definition resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Connecting to the internet can be done either using WiFi or the wired Ethernet connection. This notebook also supports 3G technology for high speed internet access.
Although compact in design, there are a number of interfaces and connectors housed in this device. 3 USB ports, a VGA port, an HDMI port, a card reader, a Kensington lock, a headphone jack and a microphone jack are all present. A video chat web camera of 1.3 Megapixel resolution, is built in as well.
MSI Wind U200 Notebook is priced at €629 in the German market. Though MSI has not yet mentioned a UK release, this price amounts to £540.
