Samsung N510 Laptop is a synonym for ‘entertainment on the move’. It is lighter than most multimedia laptops, and yet features all the ‘must haves’ of an entertainment laptop. The screen measures 11.6” across. The resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels offered, ensures display of high definition content. The 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio takes care of excluding the fun-spoiling black bars that flank the top and bottom of videos. Its non glossy characteristic cuts out on-screen reflections.
The main attraction in this notebook is the use of Nvidia’s Ion GeForce 9400M graphics card, which is supposed to enhance the multimedia experience. Other technical details include the Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, a 1GB RAM, a 160GB hard drive and Windows XP OS. The standard set of connectors, namely 3 USB ports, an HDMI port, a VGA port, a 3-in-1 memory card reader, microphone jack and headphone jack are present in this notebook. One of the USB ports can be used for charging other portable devices, even when the netbook is powered off. A 1.3 Megapixel camera is packed in too. Stereo speakers with SRS audio have been integrated into this portable PC as well.
The notebook has a large touchpad and a full sized keyboard. The keys are coated with anti-bacterial film, for protection too. A praiseworthy battery life of 7 hours is promised as well. On the networking front, WiFi and Ethernet LAN are both supported for internet access. You can also have a 3G SIM card version for mobile broadband access, for high speed internet usage on the go. This mobile computer is Bluetooth enabled also.
The Samsung N510 Multimedia Laptop can be categorised as ultra-portable owing to its weight of just 1.4kg. You will have to spend about £449 to make this machine yours.
