Portability is not the only thing that people look for in laptops. Sometimes, consumers also need a perfect desktop replacement, which is big enough for suiting multimedia needs and mobile too. Samsung has done just that with their new Samsung R720 17” Laptop.
This multimedia mobile computer is armed with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD4650 graphics chip for handling motion pictures. This uses about 512MB or 1GB of DDR3 RAM, that has been dedicated for graphics, to bring about powerful 3D graphics processing. You can watch movies or play games on the 17.3” LED back-lit widescreen display. The 3D SRS audio from the stereo speakers go hand in hand with the impressive visuals. The other operations are handled by an Intel dual core processor which uses the Intel Centrino 2 technology. The operating system employed is the Windows Vista Home Premium.
Information on the ports and connectors available in this workstation is still a little misty. The only revelation is the presence of 4 USB v2.0 ports, a USB/eSATA combo port and a card reader. There is even a USB port for charging electronic devices like MP3 player or mobile phone, even when the laptop is turned off. A Blu Ray disc drive is as well built into this samsung laptop.
The keyboard of this machine, has a separate numeric keypad too, just like desktop computer keyboards. The keys are also protected with an anti-bacterial coating. The Samsung R720 Multimedia Laptop is expected to hit the market in July for a price of about £599, which is quite reasonable for a laptop of this size.
