Sony Vaio VGN-AW230 Laptop has been built with a host of features for meeting multimedia needs. First of all, it sports an 18.4” LCD widescreen display which has a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and has anti-glare capability. An Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz processor handles internal processing of this machine. The RAM employed in this workhorse has a 4GB capacity. The hard drive offers 500GB of storage space. Microsoft Windows Vista OS comes pre-installed with this multimedia laptop. The graphics processor incorporated is the nVidia GeForce 9600M GT. Sound quality is supposed to be impressive also, with the Dolby Control Center software.
The Blu Ray drive that is built into this device adds to its multimedia ability. A long line-up of ports and interfaces are present on-board this powerhouse too. There are an HDMI output, a microphone jack, a headphone/optical audio out combo jack, a VGA output, USB ports, ExpressCard slot, memory stick pro, SD card slot, Firewire port and Gigabit Ethernet connection. WiFi connectivity is supported by this workstation as well. Bluetooth wireless transfers are possible too.
The Sony Vaio VGN-AW230 18.4″ Laptop which is a hulk of a machine has a weight of 3.7kg. The keyboard is large too with sufficient spacing between keys. Battery life is a little disappointing as it can run for just over 1 hour after a complete charge up. In the US this best laptop costs $1599 (~ GBP 973). A UK release has not been heard of yet.
