Sony Vaio X Laptop
Posted on September 29, 2009
When Apple MacBook Air was introduced last year, everyone marvelled at its ultraslim profile. Now Sony Vaio’s all set to break the MacBook Air’s record, with the new Sony Vaio X Laptop. Measuring just half an inch in thickness, this new ultraportable laptop beats the MacBook in lightness as well. However, the Apple MacBook Air might still be able to retain its ‘thinnest laptop’ title, as the Sony Vaio X netbook is smaller in size. While Apple’s slim beauty is a 13.3″ display device, the new Sony Vaio laptop is an 11.1″ screen device.
Made with a carbon-fibre case and an aluminium keyboard, the Sony Vaio X Laptop can either have a glossy finish or a matte finish. This hyper-portable PC was displayed during the IFA held a few weeks back in Germany. The workstation on display was powered by an Intel Atom processor. However, the device might actually feature newer processors, may be the CULV processors, when they step into the market.
Nothing much has been mentioned about the specifications of this machine. The little known presently is that along the sides are a couple of USB ports, a VGA output, an SD/Memory Stick slot, a WWAN SIM slot and an RJ45 jack for Ethernet connectivity. This netbook will most probably run on the Windows 7 OS and have a 2GB RAM.
The Sony Vaio X 11.1″ Netbook weighs just 700g. This ultra-slim netbook is speculated to ship a week after the release of Windows 7 OS. Pricing, laptop offers and laptop deals will probably be known sometime early in October.
